Who we are

This website is operated by Math Inspires Lives Foundation, Inc. (“Math Inspires Lives,” “we,” or “us”), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in California. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and related forms, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

We collect only the information you choose to give us:

• IMIC expressions of interest: your name, email address, institution, role, areas of expertise, preferred contribution, and, if you choose, a professional profile link and your availability. The IMIC interest form is a Google Form, and your answers are stored in our Google account.
• Volunteer interest and email-list sign-ups: the details you enter in our Google Forms, such as your name, contact information, and volunteer interests.
• Emails you send us: your email address and anything you include in your message.
• Donations: donations are processed by Givebutter. We receive information such as your name, email address, and donation amount. We do not receive or store your payment card details.

This website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising, or tracking tools. Like most websites, our web hosting provider may automatically record standard technical information, such as IP address and browser type, in server logs used to operate and secure the site.

How we use your information

• To respond to your inquiries and expressions of interest.
• To coordinate volunteers, programs, and the development of IMIC.
• To send program and event updates if you join our email list.
• To process and acknowledge donations and keep the records required for tax and accounting purposes.

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers that help us operate, and only as needed for that purpose:

• Google (Google Forms and Google Cloud), where form submissions are stored.
• Our email provider, for messages you send us.
• Givebutter, which processes donations under its own privacy policy.

We may also disclose information if required by law. Within Math Inspires Lives, access is limited to the people who need it to respond to you or run our programs.

How long we keep it

We keep form submissions and related emails for two years, after which we delete them. Donation records may be kept longer where tax or accounting law requires.

Children’s privacy

Our programs serve young learners, but we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If a volunteer or participant is under 13, a parent or guardian should complete any form on their behalf. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices

You can ask to review, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or unsubscribe from our email list at any time, by emailing contact@mathinspireslives.org.

Do Not Track signals

Because this website does not track visitors over time or across other websites, it does not respond differently to browser “Do Not Track” signals.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect the information we hold. No method of storing or sending information over the internet is completely secure.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date below. If a change is significant, we will also note it on our homepage.
